As Expected!

Today was a gain.  :(  202.2.  I can live with that, I suppose.  I splurged a bit more than intended yesterday, but it was more on beer than food.  I'll have to start choosing between quantity and quality; 4 pints of IPA simply isn't an option anymore, I'm afraid.

The good:  I felt guilty, which I ordinarily wouldn't have.  I felt like I should go home and work out, although I didn't.  By the time we got home it was really late & I was exhausted.  I stuck to my glass of water for every beer, which I think did help me to drink less beer.  That was the thought - I won't technically limit the number of beers for now, but will make this water rule, and then time and sheer liquid volume will dictate that I drink less beer that way.

The bad:  I can't find nutritional info for Granite City ANYWHERE!  I asked the server & he said they didn't have it to his knowledge.  I thought that was some sort of law, to make it available.  Am I wrong?  Andy thought the same thing, but maybe that's just certain states.  I could definitely see Missouri not being progressive enough for that.  I am guessing yesterday was somewhere around 2300 calories - yikes!

Back on track today!  Had Cinnamon Toast Crunch with soy milk & a scrambled egg this morning - 245 calories, 7 points.  Once again, more points than I'd expected, but I'm getting the hang of it slowly.  Ideally I would have had less of a sugar cereal, but it's all we have right now.

Happy Hour with Dad today will present the next challenge.  I think I will stick to hard alcohol, roughly 100 points per drink, so I can keep track in my head easier.  Beer varies so much for each type and brand, etc. that it's kind of tricky to navigate unless you stick to Bud or Miller....which are 100 calories, and I'd rather have bourbon :)

  1. As a stakeholder in Granite City Food & Brewery I am unhappy to hear that you were not able to get the nutritional information you had requested. I will certainly look into this for you and get back to you. I apologize for the inconvenience and hope you enjoyed the rest of your visit to GCFB
